Austin Solar Water Heaters

The time has come for SOLAR.

If you are interested in reducing your carbon footprint, lowering your utility bill, or just wanting to replace you water heater with the most cost-effective system available. Solar water heaters are for you.

For some reason when people think of solar power, the instantly think of generating electricity. Maybe it's all those calculators you have owned over the years. We call the electric generating systems photovoltaic (PV for short), and water heating systems, Solar Thermal. What should you do? Both would sure be nice, but the first thing you should do is add solar thermal. It will give you your biggest bang for your buck. The return on investment is generally twice as quick on the Solar thermal as it is on a PV system. I would do the solar thermal water heater first, and add PV as my budget allowed.

Now with the 30% tax credit for the total solar water heater cost, along with the City of Austin solar tax rebate, ($1,500.00- $2,000.00) I think you would be crazy not to do a solar water heater. A properly installed, high quality system should easily have a 20-year life. Considering that heating your water makes up  at least 30% or of your total energy bill this will add up to significant savings. Depending on your exact circumstances you could be on the money making side of the cost of installation in just a few years! If you are ready to make the right choice, Give us a call, and lets get you started saving energy, and saving money!

Solar hot water, It’s the right thing to do!

This looks really cool! Let me know what it would take to put into our new house. Also, would something like this work to heat pool water? Lyssa

We recently had Radiant install a Solar Water Heater, so still early to see what effect there is on the utility bill. We do not live in Austin so no rebate information here either. Regardless, it is green and every lit bit helps the planet.

Although, this is my first interaction with Radiant - I would highly recommend them.
Whether you get a Solar Water Heater or not - consider Radiant for any plumbing needs! They always showed up when they said they would, were professional, and did a nice, clean installation job. Additionally, the final charge was what was quoted - no surprises.

I highly recommend this team. I have included my email so I can be contacted if you have questions. PLEASE include a good subject line as I am prone to deleting messages if unsure of source or content.

I think we will some day see a standard for this type of infrastructure for new home building or even existing upgrades.
